Eve Rogans has been working as an acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist for over 40 years. She is experienced in treating many different kinds of people and conditions, from asthma to anxiety, from chronic fatigue to chronic pain, and from women's disorders to digestive disorders.
She graduated in 1981 from the International College of Oriental Medicine on the 3 year degree course. She studied Traditional Chinese Herbalism with Ted Kaptchuk OMD over 2 years, followed up by two periods of clinical training in Nanjing, China.
Later on, she completed, and later taught on, a paediatric acupuncture course, and has done further specialist training in obstetrics and IVF for Chinese medicine practitioners. She has also done sleep training for children with learning difficulties.
Throughout her long career, Eve has been passionate about making acupuncture accessible to the wider public and has continually worked both in private practice and in funded or NHS clinics. One of these was Hoxton Health Group, a funded project in Hackney for older people, which is still continuing. She also worked for 15 years in Enfield Community Drug and Alcohol Service (part of the NHS Mental Health Trust) and at the same time was another founder member of the first Neals Yard Therapy Rooms in Covent Garden. In all of these, Eve worked at the beginning of what were ground-breaking projects, as acupuncture was not really well known at that time.
Eve has always worked around north and east London and with older people, setting up a very affordable acupuncture project in many different Sheltered Housings throughout Camden, following her successful National Lottery bid. One project is still going. With the remainder of the Lottery money, she opened Highgate Community Acupuncture, a multibed clinic which aimed to bring affordable treatment to people who wouldn't be able to have regular therapy otherwise.
She also had a long involvement with the charity Women and Health (W&H) in Camden. Women and Health is a long standing community health centre that delivers affordable complementary therapies and counselling to some of the most disadvantaged and marginalised women, as well as to paying clients who appreciate the comfort that a womens' only space can provide.
She specialises in women’s health and is an active member of Acupuncture for Childbirth Team London (ACT London), doing pregnancy and obstetric, as well as fertility acupuncture. She also works with babies and children, a specialised type of acupuncture.
